The East Genomic Medicine Service (East GMS) is looking for an experienced and ambitious Transformation Programme Manager to lead some of the most exciting genomics transformation programmes in the NHS. As genomics becomes increasingly embedded within routine healthcare, we are evolving our approach from programme coordination to delivering strategic transformation with measurable clinical impact. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how genomic medicine is implemented across the East of England, ensuring innovation translates into real improvements for patients, clinicians and healthcare services. Working closely with clinical leaders, laboratory services, digital teams, operational managers and partner organisations, you will lead a portfolio of complex programmes across key areas including Rare Disease, Cancer, Haem-Onc, Population Health, and Digital & Data. You will translate strategic priorities into deliverable programmes, drive implementation, monitor benefits realisation and ensure sustainable change is embedded into clinical practice. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across organisational boundaries, bringing structure to complex challenges, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering meaningful change at scale. You will join a highly collaborative regional team that works with NHS organisations across the East of England to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes through genomics.
Main duties of the job
The Transformation Programme Manager will lead the delivery of a strategic portfolio of genomics transformation programmes across the East Genomic Medicine Service (East GMS). Working alongside clinical leaders, operational services, digital and informatics teams, the postholder will translate agreed clinical priorities into deliverable programmes that embed genomics into routine clinical practice. The role is responsible for driving programme delivery, managing complex interdependencies, monitoring benefits realisation and ensuring measurable improvements in patient care, service performance and genomic adoption. The postholder reports to the Clinical Adoption Director and is responsible for leading and delivering a range of strategic transformation portfolios across key clinical and enabling function priorities, such as: Rare Disease Cancer Haemato-Oncology Population Health Digital & data Working closely with Clinical Leads, laboratory operational teams and partner organisations, the postholder provides programme leadership to ensure strategic priorities are translated into measurable improvements in clinical services, patient outcomes and service performance.
