Job summary We are looking for a new Head of Group Finance to lead a small finance team and to further develop management accounting, financial planning, analysis and reporting. Main duties of the job The Head of Group Finance should have broad experience gained from a variety of different sized businesses in management role. The postholder will play a key role in the senior management team, supplying financial information to the Partners and the Head of Group Operations to enable them to deliver the organisations objectives. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate specialist financial advice and guidance to non-finance colleagues, management teams and stakeholders. Ability to lead and inspire and work as part of a team. Not afraid to roll up their sleeves. Skills and experience to take a step back and question what you and the wider business are doing; striving for continuous improvement in processes, approach and outputs. Ability to work in an agile and flexible way, dealing with a rapidly changing environment, shifting priorities and multi-tasking effectively. Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of data, demonstrating a real understanding of data and the importance of robust financial data and controls. Responsibilities Manage the core finance processes including Accounts Receivable, Payable, VAT and Payroll (including pensions and PAYE) and oversee key monthly reconciliation processes. Manage cash flow and bank balances. Manage daily accounting, tax and financial reporting including improving controls, processes and systems. Further develop management accounting, annual budgeting and provide monthly reviews to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Deliver accurate, timely and appropriate financial reports to internal and external stakeholders. In collaboration with the Head of Group Operations monitor and report on performance against key elements of GMS and APMS contracts taking timely action to deal with variances. Provide expertise and financial analysis to assist the Partners in developing and delivering the long term strategy and strategic plan. Responsible for the delivery of the annual accounts together with supporting documentation to the Accountants to enable the completion of the Partnership Accounts.
