Job Description

Job summary Medical HR Advisory Manager - Band 7 Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trustis looking for an experienced, values-led Medical HR Advisory Manager to provide expert leadership across our medical staffing advisory service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a professional, compassionate and high-quality service for medical and dental staff across the Trust. As the professional lead for the Medical HR Advisory Team, you will use your specialist knowledge of medical workforce terms and conditions, employment legislation, national guidance and Trust policy to support safe, effective and consistent management of the medical workforce. You will work closely with senior clinical leaders, the Assistant Director of Workforce - Resourcing and colleagues across Workforce to improve processes, strengthen service delivery and support the implementation of national initiatives. Main duties of the job You will lead and develop the Medical HR Advisory Team, ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and supportive advice to clinical directorates and medical staff. The role will involve advising on complex medical and dental employment matters, supporting consultant recruitment processes, overseeing resident doctor leave and exception reporting processes, contributing to policy development, and using data and stakeholder feedback to drive service improvement. You will also be responsible for line managing the advisory team, maintaining strong working relationships across the Trust, supporting compliance with working time requirements and medical workforce processes, and ensuring that the service reflects OUH's values of Learning, Respect, Delivery, Excellence, Compassion and Improvement. What success looks like
Essential criteria - Experience of senior medical staffing level of experience in a complex NHS environment. - Demonstrable level of administrative experience at a high level of competence acquired through both training and experience - Ability to lead training programmes on medical and dental policies/TCS. - Experience of large-scale time bound recruitment. - Excellent telephone and communication skills - Ability to work under pressure - Ability to prioritise own workload and work towards deadlines - Proven leadership skills Desirable criteria - NHS experience - Experience of working with clinical rotas
