About the role
As Team Manager for the Learning Disabilities Team, you will provide strong, visible leadership to a team of social care professionals delivering statutory adult social care services across Lincolnshire.
You will champion strengths-based practice, ensuring people with learning disabilities are supported to maximise their independence, exercise choice and control, and achieve outcomes that matter most to them.
Working collaboratively with health partners, providers, families, carers, advocacy services, and community organisations, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, personalised support that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop a team of social care professionals and Advanced Practitioners.
Promote innovative, strengths-based approaches that support adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilled and independent lives.
Provide oversight and decision-making for complex cases, safeguarding enquiries, risk management, and legal processes.
Ensure assessments, reviews, support planning, and interventions are delivered to a consistently high standard.
Support staff development through supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
Drive continuous service improvement, quality assurance, and excellent practice standards.
Build and maintain positive partnerships with health colleagues, providers, families, and community networks.
Manage resources effectively and contribute to the strategic development of Learning Disability services across the county.
Lead and support the implementation of service developments, transformation programmes, and new ways of working.

You will support a team of practitioners to enable people to identify and build support networks to achieve their identified outcomes, drawing on support where required. You will ensure that your teams know and understand the local community and embed your team within place-based services.

You will be skilled at embedding new ways of thinking and working, developing and maintaining strong, positive working relationships with commissioners, your teams and partners across service areas. Provide oversight and decision making in relation to complex cases ensuring that prescribed Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are observed for the protection of adults who are experiencing, or at risk of abuse or neglect, promoting a personalized safeguarding model that puts the outcomes for the person at the centre of practice.

Contribute to the specification and planning of services for the purpose of commissioning effective services through contact with internal or external providers

Contribute to the Council's statutory obligations and where appropriate any national and Health and Social Care local performance indicators

Assist with the implementation of Adult Care quality assurance systems, including the monitoring and review of casework and ensure these comply with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy

Maintain and monitor expenditure within budgets for which responsibility has been delegated

Undertake/oversee allocation of workload to agree service priorities; monitor case files computerised records deal with case management issues as they arise

Chair BIA meetings, have oversight of Safeguarding processes and procedures and complex legal liaison e. g. Court of Protection. Provide advice and support in relation to complex cases including risk assessments respond to complaints from relatives/carers

Essential criteria
- A professional Social Work, Nursing or Occupational Therapy Qualification
- Current, SWE, HCPC or NMC Registration.
- 2 years post qualification practice experience of working in health or social care environment
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care organisational arrangements including the role of CCG's and other NHS Trusts in relation to Adult Care Services
- Ability to manage a staff group taking into account professional boundaries.
- Leadership skills and the ability to model good practice.
